Washington D.C. Trip
Based on a nomination from Congressman Gus Bilirakis, the American Veterans Center and Music Celebrations International have invited the Golden Cougar Band of Pride to participate in the NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE in Washington D.C., May of 2020. This will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. The parade is the official Memorial Day parade of America. This is a huge honor. Watch this video for more information.
This trip is open to ALL band students (Concert and Marching). We will also need registered volunteers with Level II clearance to chaperone. Current Class of 2019 Seniors who sign up as a chaperone will be allowed to perform!
The cost of the trip is $1,000 per person (youth and adults), broken into 4 payments of $250 due September 1st, November 1st, January 1st and March 1st. All participants will be given a special trip Theme T-Shirt. Fundraisers will be held leading up to each payment, and the money raised will be equally distributed between all students who participated in fundraising that quarter, allowing you to pay a smaller amount. You must pay for this trip in order to attend, and this is on top of the annual band fees of $500 that go towards the normal costs of running the band program.
